I’m Sarah. You can find me here, here or here. But since you are here, please enjoy some platypus facts.
- When first discovered, people thought the platypus was fake.
- The male platypus has poisonous horny leg spurs.
- They store fat in their tails.
- They can swim at up to 1m/s, but are 30% slower on land due to having short fat limbs.
- They are largely solitary animals.
- They have their own tick species (Ixodes ornithothynchi).
